Hot

This weekend went by too fast.

Now I am back at work, already counting down till next weekend.

Friday night we stayed in so Bill could study for the FINAL he has tonight.

I can't wait until it is over- this class has really been a bitch for him.

Saturday we went over to Capt. D's house for some outdoor hanging out time.
(but first Bill had some business to take care of:

The usual suspects were there so it was bound to be a great time.

The only drawback, it was f-ing hot outside.

We tried to make the best of it by drinking to lessen the heat but as soon as my legs started sweating (as well as my boobs and butt)- I knew we had to be more proactive.

I rounded up Mrs. Capt D. and M and we headed off to Walgreens.

Two kiddie pools, two fan/misters, one weird snake-like hose thing, and one can of "chew" later we were back on the road.

INSTANT SUCCESS!

We filled up both pools and set all of our chairs around it and while the boys played games, the ladies drank while our feet went numb from the cold pool water (the numbness was a GOOD thing- it was really hot out).

Fast forward a couple of hours, a "couple" of drinks, one disappointing horse race, and some flip cup action later and it was dark out.

Somehow (I didn't see it actually happen) Mrs. Capt D. (MCD) slipped and fell in one of the kiddie pools. (contrary to us all thinking that Bill Teets would be the first "man down")

and oh yeah, Eddie Murphy's in-famous song was in the background during all of this (my girl wants to party all the time, party all the time, party all the tiiiiiime).

So while MCD went in to change, I convinced Bill that it would be a good idea if he also "fell" into the pool so that MCD wouldn't feel that bad.

It wasn't hard to get him in.

He stripped down to his boxers and the hilarity ensued.

He splashed.

He frolicked.

He danced.

He cannon-balled.

He submerged himself, over and over and over.

Everything around the pool was soaked.

As were the people watching him.

At one point, he got out and decided he needed to dry off so he rolled around on the neighbors driveway....and then got up and "fell" right back into the pool.

Great times!!

Cumbo only 2 weeks away!!!

Sunday we woke up and drove to the Island for the big Opening Day softball game.

There really is nothing like it. Everyone comes out to watch.

After a couple of hours playing around the Island in our golf cart we headed over to the field, the brand-spanking new field.

Bill got warmed up and I socialized with Angry Johnny's parents (ask his dad to try on his new BlueBlocker sunglasses- awesome!) and Capt. D's grandparents.

There was some opening-day "hoopla" and then the game got started...along with a thunderstorm.

At first the wind picked up and we watched the storm creep over the whole Island.

It was actually really neat to watch.

They tried to hold off the game as long as they could (while Dudethatsrad and I sat in the golfcart) but finally it was called and everyone headed out- which sucked because the Boardwalk (Bill's team) had a COMMANDING lead against Mr. Ed's (it was a suckfest just like last year's Championship game).

So Bill and I (and 2 soaking wet doggies) headed off to the ferry to go back home.

Oh yeah, it was SUNNY by that time.
Monday, 8:48am...how many hours left until Friday?!!!
:(
